TJ Hartman Racing - Update: Leaving Again!

Puyallup, WA - November 6, 2012...

As 2012 begins to wind down, TJ's racing season begins to pick up momentum.  Due in no small part to the friendships he made back in the Spring of 2011, TJ has been provided an opportunity to return to Queensland, Australia where he will pilot a Midget for the first time.  A schedule is still being worked out, but the Mid-December departure should be ample to get in around 8-10 shows, including the $10,000 to win Australian Midget Championship at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane.

The 21 year old is excited for the return "Down Under". "This is a great opportunity." the Puyallup, Washington native states. "Words cannot express how grateful I am to Sid(Whittaker) and Scott(Wilson) for giving me the chance to drive the midget.  They have put together an awesome piece.  I can't wait to get down there and team up with them and Sid's crew chief, Col(Colin Davies) and get out on the track."

TJ met the trio on his last trip to Australia while attending a race with his host Dale Grother.  Their friendships blossomed immediately, and TJ ended up spending the final part of his trip with Sid and his family.  The communication continued over the past 18 months.  In late September, Sid called with the news that Scott Wilson, and his Western Landscape Supplies company, had put together the Mopar powered Spike Midget.  They were offering the ride to TJ for the December/January series of races in Queensland and New South Wales.

It wasn't hard to convince TJ to make plans to head South!  "I jumped at the chance immediately!" TJ exclaims!  "I know these guys take their midget racing serious, but they make sure to have fun and keep their families and friends involved.  It was a no-brainer decision, because their program is exactly how we've approached my racing up here in the sprintcar.  Obviously driving a midget is going to be different than anything I've done so far, but I'm confident I'll pick it right up, and I look forward to getting Scott's car up front."

As the time approaches for TJ to board a plane, the team will finalize the schedule and send out the information for everyone to follow along.  The plans are to keep everyone up to date via TJ's twitter at http://www.twitter.com/tjhartman19 and on TJ's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/tjhartmanracing.  It's not sure whether any of these races will be broadcasted via the Internet, but if they are, make plans to adjust your sleep schedule!

TJ Hartman Racing would like to express a debt of gratitude to Scott Wilson and Western Landscape Supplies for providing this opportunity.  TJ continues to work towards his goals in racing, and this is definitely something that fits his desires.  Everyone involved with TJ's racing career wishes to thank all of the sponsors that continue to partner with TJ.  And for a racer from the USA, nothing is better than ending the year with more racing and getting a jump on next season, as the New Year dawns!
