TJ Hartman Racing - UPDATE - On the mend

Puyallup, WA - June 14, 2009...

A short update to let everyone know how TJ is doing.

It's been a week since his accident, and TJ is physically on the mend. He had a midweek episode that signaled the trauma of suffering a head concussion is still with him. With the help of his teachers and school faculty keeping a close eye on him, he has managed to keep on track to finish out the school year which concludes next week.

TJ did state that waking up Saturday morning knowing he wouldn't be going to the race track was difficult. He understands the setback in suffering damage to the engine from the crash, and is the first person to say it doesn't matter anyway, as until he is 100% health wise, he shouldn't be in the car. Nonetheless, spending the afternoon at a ball game wasn't the same.

Many thanks and much appreciation to all who continue to check on him. As we dismantled the wrecked car and examined everything, we were amazed to discover the intensity of the impact. All of TJ's safety gear has been sent back to the respective manufacturers for their evaluation. Suffice it to say - his physical conditioning, small stature, good fortune, and a guardian angel are all reasons he is in as good of shape as he is.

While our team was not at the race track this weekend, we are aware of the words used by Grays Harbor Raceway announcer Phil Martelli as the sprint car A-main was about to take the green flag. Phil's words gave little doubt as to where his thoughts were, and they are very much appreciated.

"Let's hope for a fast, clean, safe one."

We couldn't agree more Phil. Thank you.

TJ and his team appreciate all of the support from our friends, fans, and sponsors who support TJ's goals.

Next scheduled stop - Recycling center and the final week of school!
